Kenosha Man Ingests Controlled Substance while being Arrested for Felony Warrant
A Kenosha man is being treated at a hospital for complications of ingesting a substance on Friday when Kenosha Police were attempting to take him into custody.
The incident occurred on the 2800 block of 41st Street, according to Kenosha Police Department.
Officers attempted to take the 52-year-old man into custody on an outstanding felony Department of Corrections warrant.
The man appeared to ingest a probable controlled substance. He resisted arrest and struggled with officers. A Taser was deployed and officers were able to gain control of him. Because the man had ingested a substance and had minor injuries, he was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. There were complications due to his ingestion of the substance. He is currently receiving treatment at the hospital. The Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the incident.
