Kenosha County Sheriff's Department Investigating Train Vs Semi Crash

KENOSHA COUNTY - The Sheriff's Departments and local fire departments are currently investigating a train vs semi-tractor trailer crash near the intersection of 104th Street and 268th Court. 

According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department, the preliminary investigation has determined that the semi-tractor trailer unit was attempting to cross the train crossing at that location. The semi unit was hauling  a piece of construction equipment on a low profile trailer. The trailer became lodged on the grade crossing. The train struck the trailer of the semi.

There was damage to some components of the train which will require repair prior to moving. This will result in the extended closure of the railroad crossing on County Highway AH.

Several roadways are blocked at this time due to the train being stopped. The major roadway blocked at this time is the train crossing on County Highway AH (Camp Lake Road) and County Highway SA.

The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department asks that you avoid the area at this time. 

No injuries were reported in this incident and there is no danger to residents at this time.
