Sheriff Beth was talking about five people accused of theft who ran a red light and crashed into another car.
"As I'm reading through the report today, I became more and more upset at exactly what I was seeing and what's happening in society and coming down and really washing into Kenosha County. And I'm frankly sick of it," Beth said.
In his apology today, Beth said in part:
"I should have kept my comments better directed toward the incident itself and not allowed my emotions get the better of me. I have been involved in hundreds of on-camera interviews and press conferences and have shared my emotions before, but never in this fashion or this extent.
Beth says he met with two members of the Kenosha NAACP Monday morning.
