Keeping Your Holiday Tree Alive & Well/Creating Festive Pots

This time of the year can get overwhelming.  So make sure you remember to water your live Christmas tree while doing everything else on your list.  This will help keep your tree thriving through the holidays and prevent a possible house fire as well.  Horticulturist Dave Wanninger with Boerner Botanical Gardens gave me a good lesson about this type of care.  He also recommended keeping your tree away from direct light as well as heat vents.  

Also, while visiting Boerner, Lorrie Burrows showed me different holiday pots you can make with little difficulty.  It requires lots of greenery from your own yard and a few pretty pine cones and holiday bows.  Also, she says, make sure they're watered frequently just like Christmas trees.
