Judge Recuses Himself in Brantner Trial

The possibility of re-trying Dennis Brantner in the death of Berit Beck is on hold.

The judge recused himself from the case this afternoon.

In a Fond du Lac county courtroom, Judge Gary Sharp said he was stepping down because of comments he made to the jury after Brantner's murder case was deemed a hung jury earlier this year.

He apologized and said those comments could make it appear that he's impartial.
