Jose's Blue Sombrero in Brookfield permanently closes after extensive fire damage
BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) --- Jose's Blue Sombrero in Brookfield will permanently close following a fire in early January.
DeRosa Corporation recently announced the Brookfield location, 20371 W. Bluemound Road, will close due to extension damage from a fire that started inside a kitchen a wall.
The restaurant has been closed since the fire on Tuesday, Jan. 5.
Officials say the cost of necessary repairs do not make economical business sense at this time.
"We are so proud to have been part of the Brookfield community and want to extend a heartfelt and sincere thank you to all of our loyal customers who we've had the pleasure of serving for almost 15 years," DeRosa said. "This was a difficult decision, but we hope to welcome our customers and fiends to one of the other Jose's Blue Sombrero locations in Wauwatosa, Fox Point and Racine or at our other Brookfield restaurant, Parkside 23."
DeRosa Corporation said they are making an effort to find employment for its staff members who continue to work with the company.
DeRosa Corporation has entered into a contract for the sale of the restaurant property to occur later this year, according to a news release.
