Jordy Nelson to retire as a Packer

(CBS 58) -- Fan-favorite Jordy Nelson will retire as a Green Bay Packer.

Nelson confirmed the news during an interview with a TV station in Topeka, Kansas. He says he plans to return in August and sign a one-day contract to end his career where it started.

Nelson was drafted in 2008 by the Packers and caught 550 passes and 65 touchdowns for the team. He decided to retire earlier in 2019 after being released by the Oakland Raiders.
