Jimmy John's hit with credit card hack, Milwaukee store affected

(MILWAUKEE)-- They're \"freaky fast,\" but now they're dealing with a security breach.  Jimmy John's confirms that 216 stores nationwide may have had credit or debit card information stolen.  Five of those stores are in Wisconsin, and one of those five is on West Wells Street near the Marquette University campus.

The company confirms that hackers compromised a third-party point of sale system.  If you used plastic at the store from June 16th to August 7th, your information may have been stolen.  That information includes:

Name

Card Number

Card Verification Code

Card Expiration Date

CBS 58 spoke with some frequent customers, who find the idea of being hacked pretty tough to swallow. \"I can't believe they haven't mentioned it(to customers),\" Jake Philip said, \"I go there often, use the same card every time.\"

Markie Pasternak says she just got done dealing with another credit card hack, and may have to start all over. \"I actually used a card on Black Friday at Target last November,\" Pasternak said, \"I just got a new credit card, may have to get a new one again.\"

Jimmy Johns recommends that if you may have had your information stolen, monitor your monthly statements closely and quickly report any potential fraud.
