Jefferson Police Searching for Halloween Bank Robber

The City of Jefferson Police Department and Crimestoppers are offering a cash reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in a robbery at the First Merit Bank located at 106 South Main Street in the City of Jefferson.

On Monday October 31, at approximately 2:20 PM Officers responded to the report of the robbery. The lone suspect is identified as a white man approximately 5’7’’ 230 lbs wearing a gray and black knit cap, sunglasses, dark gray or black coat and dark colored pants.

The suspect entered the bank, passed a note to the teller and ran off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries as a result of this incident, and the Jefferson Police Department has no reason to believe there is a danger to the community at this time.

Officers responded and were on scene within two minutes of the original call. Officers cleared the building and did not locate the suspect.
