WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Jayden Rather has been crowned the 2024 Fairest of the Fair in Waukesha County.

In this role, Rather will engage with the public and community, conduct media interviews, highlight special events at the 2024 Waukesha County Fair and award ribbons. Additionally, she will announce and welcome youth exhibitors and their families.

The crowning took place on Tuesday, June 28, during the 57th annual Fairest of the Fair event at the Waukesha County Historical Society and Museum.

Rather, a resident of Waukesha, has been involved with the Fair for over ten years, exhibiting beef and swine. She is also a student at UW-Madison and is involved in various medical student organizations.

The selection for Fairest of the Fair is based on several criteria including personality, community involvement and knowledge of the Waukesha County Fair.
