WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson's name came up during Tuesday's House committee hearing into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
According to text messages provided as evidence Tuesday, the senator wanted to hand deliver "alternate" electors for the 2020 election to Vice President Pence. Those electors were never delivered.
That raises the question -- did the senator participate in a fake elector scheme?
A spokesperson for Johnson tweeted this response:
"The senator had no involvement in the creation of an alternate slate of electors and had no foreknowledge that it was going to be delivered to our office."
