Jacob Blake files lawsuit against city of Kenosha, police officers

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man shot by a police officer in Kenosha is filing a new lawsuit against the city, chief of police and five officers.

It's been around three years since Jacob Blake was left paralyzed from the waist down.

"He's still in a lot of pain. We talk on the phone often. I try to get by and see him on the regular," said Justin Blake, Jacob Blake's uncle. "You can't imagine the pain he goes through with bullets walking around in his body daily. He's upset about it."

We're told Blake is asking for a jury trial, with a dollar amount to be determined by the jury if they find the city at fault.

He previously dropped a civil rights lawsuit against the officer who shot him.
