CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A noisy Cudahy business is leading to several complaints from neighbors.
NPS Corp, a company that makes paper products, has been giving off a loud, droning noise from its plant on Layton Ave.
“You drive by every day, it’s the same thing,” said Jim Harrington, a neighbor. “It’s terrible.”
Brian Biernat, Cudahy’s director of economic development, says the city’s fielded multiple complaints.
After investigating, he says NPS installed new equipment recently that makes nuisance-level noise, and the company didn’t apply for the proper permits.
Now NPS is going through the application process retroactively, and to get approval, the noise will need to be reduced.
The plant manager told CBS 58 they’re aware of the problem and working on fixing it.
In the meantime, he says they’ve shut the equipment off overnight.
When asked for a time frame of resolution, the manager said “soon.”
