‘It’s just not fair’: Family mourns Milwaukee man killed while working security
Family of Dylan Plouff MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Thirty-four-year-old Dylan Plouff was working security in the MacArthur Square Parking Lot on the morning of Monday, May 18.
Police say Plouff encountered a suspect in the parking lot trying to enter vehicles before he was attacked and sent to the hospital.
“Just trying to do his job,” Plouff’s Aunt Nicky Horn said. “We were up at the hospital 13-14 hours a day not knowing what was going to happen.”
Horn says that Plouff died on Friday, May 22.
“He was really a great fantastic person, and we all love him so much and just the thought of him not being anymore it’s so hard to believe and it’s just not fair,” Horn said.
A 32-year-old was arrested in connection to the incident and is currently facing charges in a separate assault as the state reviews charges in this case.
“We want justice to be served for Dylan and other families that have to deal with these situations where these criminals are walking around and causing problems and they’re getting away with it,” Horn said.
Plouff leaves behind four kids, an 18-year-old, 11-year-old, 8-year-old, and a 2-year-old.
“Those kids meant the world to him and he did everything he was a great provider for those children,” Horn said. “It’s hard for them, especially the little ones who don’t really understand what’s going on.”
The medical examiner's report says his death has been ruled a homicide.
Charges for the 32-year-old have been referred to the DA’s office.
The office says the charges are still pending as the investigation is ongoing.
