ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (CBS 58) – Brides and grooms are looking for new venues after a banquet hall and restaurant in Elkhart Lake was completely destroyed.

The Three Guys and a Grill East banquet hall was completely destroyed by an early morning fire on Friday. A Captain with the Elkhart Lake Fire Department says the cause of the fire remains under investigation but is believed to have started in the bar area.

Nearby banquet halls are stepping in to help provide a space for couples who were planning to get married at Three Guys and a Grill. A bar and banquet hall down the street, Rumors, plans to host some of the weddings.

“It’s horribly sad, I can’t even imagine what they’re going through,” Rumors Owner Jim Clary said. “If anything ever happened to me, I wouldn’t want to be in that situation, but I would want someone to step up for me.”

Road America is also offering their wedding space inside and outside on their grounds.

“These are our friends, these are our family, and this is our community so we’re here to extend a helping hand when we can,” John Ewert of Road America said.

The owner of Three Guys and a Grill say they host a lot of weddings, graduations, and other large parties. They plan to honor all of the events scheduled.

"We’re just thanking everybody for their help," Owner Scott McMurray said. "I just want to be able to take care of the people we made commitments to. I mean we have brides that are having weddings."

Other businesses nearby hope they can ease the worries of Three Guys and a Grill by opening up their space to them.

“They’re our brothers and sisters, to see something like this happen in our local community hits close to home,” Ewert said.

McMurray asks anyone who had an event planned to contact the business on their Facebook page or at their location at the Marsh Campground.
