How close is the governor to appointing an interim sheriff in Milwaukee County?
On Wednesday morning, the communications director for Scott Walker told CBS 58 News that the interviews are complete.
So far, there is nothing to announce.
The governor has narrowed the selection to five to complete the term of David Clarke who left for a position with a political action committee.
Among the contenders is the Acting Sheriff Richard Schmidt who has made cracking down of speeding a reckless driving a priority since taking command.
Also said to be in the running is Milwaukee Police Captain Al Morales who famously, more than a decade ago, brought down a convicted murdered who tried to escape from the courtroom.
