MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One Milwaukee Bucks player and his wife have upgraded the sensory rooms at Fiserv Forum to continue helping those with sensory issues.

"To give people the opportunity to come out of their homes, to no longer withdraw from the community, and come and be a part of Bucks basketball and events here at Fiserv Forum is what this is all about," Renae Ingles, wife of Bucks forward Joe Ingles, said Thursday during the ribbon-cutting.

The couple, who have a son with autism, is passionate about helping others with sensory struggles. The pair funded the upgrades to the two sensory rooms at Fiserv Forum, located in section 109 on the main concourse and section 212 on the upper concourse.

The updates include a TV, softer carpeted walls and an interactive sparkle cube to reduce anxiety. The Ingles say in the U.S., one in six people deal with sensory issues and these rooms can help them experience activities others might take for granted.

"If Jacob was struggling or needed to come up, Renae can come up [to the sensory room], and now with the TV, not miss out on me playing tremendously," Joe Ingles said.

You can check out one of the sensory rooms by visiting guest services in sections 109 and 212. You can stay in them as long as you need.

On Sunday, the Bucks will have an autism acceptance night where they will lower the noise during the game and not turn on any strobe lighting.

On top of the two sensory rooms, during that game against the 76ers, the team will have rooms set aside for anyone needing a safe space.
