Illinois man killed in motorcycle crash near Saukville

OZAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An Illinois man is dead after he was ejected from his motorcycle near the town of Saukville, according to the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office. 

It happened around 2:00 a.m. Monday. 

Investigators say a 57-year-old man from Barrington, Illinois was traveling northbound on CTH I near the STH 33 intersection. While going around a curve, the motorcycle crossed into the southbound lane, went onto the west gravel shoulder, and lost control at the intersection. The motorcycle slid on its side and the motorcyclist was ejected. 

Investigators say the man was not wearing a helmet and he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Portions of the intersection and surrounding roads were shut down for the investigation. The intersection was reopened just before 7:00 a.m. 

The Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office says the crash is still under investigation. They are not releasing the motorcyclist's name until family has been notified.
