MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - A vigil was held Thursday for the 24-year-old shot to death outside a nightclub in Milwaukee’s Third Ward.
Friends and family took time to remember Andre Nicholson.
Nicholson was shot five times after leaving a nightclub early Sunday morning, Dec. 6.
A crowd surrounded the area where his body was found, and stretched out into the street.
His mother and friends say the turnout is a testament to Andre’s character.
“This is amazing, this is beautiful, and I know that it’s for my baby,” said Laura Nicholson, Andre’s mother.
“It shows how much he was loved, it showed how much people care, how much he cared about people and how much that was reciprocated,” said Xander Elias, a former fraternity brother of Andre.
The alleged gunman later turned himself in. No charges have been filed.
