Hunger Task Force Raises $704,060 during Match Madness MKE

Hunger Task Force  announced that Match Madness MKE – a community fundraising campaign in support of local hunger relief – raised a grand total of $704,060.

The campaign ran from March 1 – 10. A group of local donors created a funding pool to match gifts received during the drive. Every donation made during the 10-day event was matched, dollar-for-dollar. The campaign culminated with an 18-hour phone bank at CBS 58 where the community jumped in and donated over $47,000 through phone pledges and online donations. The total raised throughout the campaign was $352,030, and with the matching pool, turned into a grand total of $704,060.

“Milwaukee is a very generous community,” said Sherrie Tussler, Executive Director of Hunger Task Force. “We knew folks would step up to the plate if asked. Hungry families, children and seniors in Milwaukee are thankful for this awesome support.”

All funds raised through Match Madness MKE will be used to provide healthy and nutritious food to local pantries and meal programs.

Hunger Task Force believes that every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. Hunger Task Force works to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow.
