Hundreds take the plunge in Muskego

Some call them fearless. Some call them crazy. Those who plunge call it worthwhile.

\"Its for a great cause, so it's all worth it in the end,\" said Mary Lee Sulkowsei.

Sunday afternoon hundreds jumped into a freezing cold lake at Muskego County Park.

\"We have brave Wisconsinites that have raised money to jump into the icy waters of Wisconsin.\"

This polar plunge is a fundraising event for Wisconsin Special Olympics.

\"The funds raised today support nearly 2,000 special olympic athletes in the greater Milwaukee area,\" said Director of Development for Special Olympics Wisconsin Julie Drake.

These polar plunges have been happening since 1999. Over the years, they've raised close to 18 million dollars for Special Olympics Wisconsin.
