Hundreds participate in polar bear plunge

It's one of those bucket list events that you're almost obligated to try if you live here long enough, the Polar Bear Plunge.


Hundreds took the plunge Wednesday afternoon at Bradford Beach.  It's a Milwaukee tradition to jump into the freezing water on New Year's Day.


This year, the temperatures were colder than usual causing the shore to have an ice shelve. The ice didn't keep people from diving in.
