Hundreds gather in Milwaukee's Third Ward for 'World's Largest Coffee Break'
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee workers had a special start to their day Tuesday, Aug. 18, as part of Downtown Employee Appreciation Week.
Nearly 1,000 people gathered in Catalano Square in Milwaukee's Third Ward for the World's Largest Coffee Break.
People spent the morning chatting with fellow downtown workers, listening to live music, and enjoying some complimentary donuts and coffee from local businesses.
"It's so important for our downtown business community, businesses, bars, restaurants, coffee houses, shops and boutiques. It's so important for our downtown employees to be appreciated because they keep our economic ecosystem so lively on a daily basis, especially here in the Third Ward," said Jim Plaisted, executive director, Historic Third Ward Association.
If you missed Tuesday's event, there are still three more full days of activities planned for this year's Employee Appreciation Week.
