Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha giving away free 'pet alert' window decals

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Humane Animal Welfare Society of Waukesha (HAWS) is giving away free pet alert window decals.

The decals can be peeled and placed on a window to ensure that first responders are aware of your pet in an emergency. 

Just write on the decal to indicate how many pets you have in your home. The shelter suggests using a dry-erase marker to update if needed.

Staff says the decals can help in cases fires, floods, tornadoes, or any type of emergency. The window cling can alert animal responders or other volunteers who are helping with search and rescue efforts. 

The shelter says decals are free, but donations are gladly accepted.
