MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The yuletide spirit was in the air on Saturday at the Penfield Children's Center on Milwaukee's north side.
The facility hosted a holiday party for about a thousand children and family members.
The event featured live music, holiday crafts, and face painting. Each child also received a special gift.
"Many of our families live below the poverty line or just don't have the resources to provide their children with gifts at the holiday time," said Chris Holmes, President and CEO of Penfield Children's Center.
The event is also made possible with the help of volunteers from Kohl's, Apple Leisure Group, and Northwestern Mutual.
