Highway 12 in Walworth County to remain closed most of Wednesday due to car crash

WALWORTH COUNTY -- Highway 12/67 near Evergreen Parkway north of Elkhorn is closed in both directions for at least the next eight hours as crews work to clear power lines from the road.

According to the Walworth County Sheriff's Office, a car hit a pole and wires are scattered across the highway. 

No one was injured in the crash and WE Energies has been called in to assist.

Residences and businesses near the crash may lose electricity as crews work to clear the scene.

The sheriff's office is advising drivers heading north to use I-43 to exit Highway 20 and to take Highway 20 west to the 12/20/67 intersection and drivers going south are advised to exit at Highway 20 and go east from the 12/20/67 split to I-43.
