High Speed Chase in Waukesha Ends with K9 Pursuit

On Sunday, February 14, at 12:35 AM, a Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department squad was on patrol on northbound State Highway 164 at Watertown Road in the City of Pewaukee. At this time a 1998 Chevrolet Malibu abruptly stopped behind the squad and began reversing down the divided highway.

The Malibu made a quick U-turn and heavily accelerated southbound away from the squad. The squad then caught up to the vehicle and observed that it matched the description of a vehicle the Waukesha Police Department had been in a vehicle pursuit with on I-94 earlier in the evening.

The deputy attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle at which time it continued to flee eastbound on I-94 from Pewaukee Road. The vehicle continued eastbound on I-94 reaching speeds of 110 MPH.

The vehicle ultimately lost control on eastbound I-94 west of Calhoun Road in the City of Brookfield and crashed into the south side freeway chain link fence.  Two subjects fled the vehicle and ran south through Endicott Park. Waukesha County Sheriff K9 Gordy assisted in a track for the subjects which resulted in an arrest in the area of Judith Place and Calhoun Road.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department arrested a 21-year-old male resident of Milwaukee for Eluding and Obstructing. A 22-year-old male passenger was also arrested for Obstructing.

The two males were booked into the Waukesha County Jail. No injuries we sustained as a result of this incident. At this time the incident remains under investigation by the Waukesha County Sheriff.
