LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A new coffee shop opening in Lake Geneva is hoping to make a difference in the lives of many.

Inspired Coffee is opening on Tuesday, June 23 and is employing more than a dozen teens and adults with special needs.

The shop had originally planned to open in April, but was delayed due to COVID-19.

"Coffee is the connection, coffee is what brings us all together, but helping people thrive, that is the purpose behind what we’re doing," General manager Jessica Bongiorno said.

Inspired Coffee is completely donor funded and a project Inspiration Ministries has been working on for several years.

"By buying a cup of coffee you’re changing the conversation about people with disabilities and their potential and the place that they should have in our community," Inspiration Ministries president Erik Barber said.

The shop is located on Main Street and is hoping to attract people from near and far.

"This is a whole different kind of experience and to put that and place it in one of the busiest parts of our city is something, that I think, is going to be unforgettable for visitors and locals alike," VISIT Lake Geneva president Stephanie Klett said.

Inspired Coffee will be open seven days a week. The shop is also offering curbside pick-up.
