Heavy Rain Coming

Labor Day turned out a little better than expected with a little sunshine moving in right around noon and high temperatures still making it well into the 80s.

Scattered showers and a few storms will still be possible Monday evening and the rain will intensify overnight as we head into Tuesday.

On Tuesday a heavy rain mass is expected to move in for Tuesday morning lasting into the afternoon. By the end of Tuesday some places could be looking over 1” with 2” in isolated spots not out of the question.

Because of the heavy rain, flash flood watches have been issued to our southwest, but the National Weather Service in Milwaukee says they won’t be needed in southeast Wisconsin since the ground is still so dry.

So far this month, precipitation totals are running slightly behind, but that deficit should be corrected with Tuesday’s heavy rain. However, for the year Milwaukee is still running a total deficit of almost 7”.
