Tuesday was all about the rain and now Wednesday is all about the heat. It will be a hazy, hot and humid day with highs getting close to record levels. After starting off warm in the 60s and 70s Wednesday morning afternoon highs will reach the low to middle 90s. There will be a little bit of a breeze out of the southwest to get us so warm and overnight we stay mild in the 70s. We are on record watch Wednesday. The current record is 96 just a few degrees warmer than the forecast.
The humidity will also be high with dew points Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the low 70s which puts it in the tropical category. Humidity will finally start to drop for the weekend.
When you combine the heat and humidity the heat index will be the thing to watch. It will feel like the upper 90s in most locations with heat indices closing in on 100*.
Thursday is also expected to be a very hot day with highs around 90 and dew points around 70 making it feel like the middle 90s.
Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather app to track the heat with the hour-by-hour forecast.
