Heaggan-Brown used force eight times in 2016

Former Milwaukee Police Officer Dominique Heaggan-Brown is among the 35 MPD officers who used force five or more times in 2016.

According to a new Milwaukee Police and Fire Commission report, \"approximately seven percent of the 505 officers were involved in five or more incidents.\"

Use of force reports do not indicate wrongdoing by a police officer.

Records released to CBS 58 show Heaggan-Brown was involved in using force eight times from April 15th, 2016 - June 30th, 2016. The Milwaukee Police Department has not said any of those incidents are unjustified, or violate department policy.

On August 13th, 2016 Heaggan-Brown shot and killed Sylville Smith, that was the catalyst for days of destruction and violence in Milwaukee's Sherman Park neighborhood.

Heggan-Brown is now awaiting trial for that shooting, he's charged with one count of reckless homicide.

The charges based on body camera video that prosecutors say shows smith had tossed his weapon over a fence when he was shot by Heaggen-Brown who was chasing after him.

Heaggan-Brown is also facing separate charges of sex assault of an intoxicated person and prostitution.
