"Hatemongers Not Welcome"; Kenosha Brat Stop Speaks out Against Pro Rape Rally
Owner's of a popular Kenosha restaurant are speaking out against a Pro-Rape event originally scheduled for Saturday.
That rally was set to meet at the Brat Stop parking lot Saturday night, before moving on to an undisclosed location.
The Brat Stop is hosting its annual Polar Plunge event the same day.
"Hopefully that event doesn't have any interaction with these people, and hopefully no one does," says General Manager Nick Klein. "They are not welcome here."
Wednesday night, Klein changed a sign in front of the store to read "Hatemongers Not Welcome". Hours later, the blogger in charge of that rally canceled all meetings worldwide.
According a post by the Washington Post, a Pro Rape Activist group had organized meetings in 43 countries. The event is to be called an “International Meetup Day” and the group hopes to legalize rape on private property.
The creator of the event posted, “I propose that we make the violent taking of a woman not punishable by law when done off public grounds.”
The group has banned women, gay and transgender men and men under 21 from attending the meetings.
Klein says he reached out to authorities after receiving numerous calls about the event.
"We have contacted the local police department, and received the following as correspondence "We have received many emails as well and believe that most of the events never occur, but we will have officers monitoring the location," he says.
