Happy Fall! Still Not Feeling Like It

It's official.  The lazy, hazy days of summer are over.  Fall came in at 9:21 this morning.  However, the cool, crisp autumn days many of us love haven't arrived.  Not just yet.  We're still dealing with a slightly muggy air mass.  In fact, a stationary front to the north will turn into a cold front and move across the region, heading into Illinois.  This front will trigger showers and storms, mainly after 4 or 5pm.

A few tenths of an inch are possible although some spots could see more.  Localized flooding isn't expected like they're seeing across western Wisconsin.

The forecast doesn't get a lot better on Friday.  There's still a risk of shower activity even behind the front.  There are some improvements during the weekend.  But, more showers and storms are expected by Sunday evening.

It looks cooler by the middle of next week with highs in the 60s.  Not necessarily hot cider weather but getting a little closer.  In the meantime, make sure to download our free CBS58 weather app to keep track of the impeding showers and storms.
