Habitat for Humanity to build 40 new homes in Milwaukee's Harambee neighborhood

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Another ambitious Habitat for Humanity project was unveiled in Milwaukee on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Forty new homes will be built in the city's Harambee neighborhood on the north side.

Bader Philanthropies is providing a $1 million grant for the revitalized project.

Habitat's formula is familiar -- homeowners help build their own houses alongside volunteers. Then they pay an affordable mortgage.

They plan to break ground on the new project next spring.
