Group of Milwaukee County supervisors accuse Rogers Behavioral Health of retaliatory firings
CBS 58 WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A handful of county commissioners are accusing a West Allis health clinic of union busting.
In a joint statement released Tuesday, Feb. 17, commissioners said Rogers Behavioral Health fired three of their mental health providers just days after the employees announced plans to unionize.
“Workers should never be penalized for exercising their fundamental rights to organize,” Supervisor Juan Miguel Martinez said in a statement Tuesday. “These caregivers were acting out of concern for their patients and community. Instead of addressing legitimate staffing concerns constructively, Rogers chose retaliation.”
Sup. Martinez reached out to Rogers Behavioral Health on behalf of his colleagues, according to a press release, urging them to reinstate the employees, cease union-busting tactics, and negotiate in good faith.
The issue is now at the center of a complaint filed with the National Labor Relations Board.
We've reached out to the clinic for comment and will update when we hear back.
