Green Bay man sentenced to 15 years in prison for involvement in drug distribution ring

GREEN BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) – A 26-year-old Green Bay man will spend 15 years in federal prison, according to the United States Department of Justice.

The DOJ says Jimmy Desotell played a role in a methamphetamine distribution ring in northeast Wisconsin.

In 2017, Desotell was involved in a conspiracy that resulted in several pounds of methamphetamine from Phoenix, Arizona being distributed in Brown County, Wisconsin and elsewhere throughout the state. According to the DOJ, evidence showed that Desotell had a firearm while distributing the drug, resulting in an additional charge.

While handing down the sentence, Chief U.S. District Court Judge William Griesbach told Desotell it was time for him to “grow up” and noted how his crimes have had a negative impact on the community.

After being released from prison, Desotell will serve eight years on federal supervised release.

Desotell was the last of eight people involved in the distribution ring to be sentenced.
