Grab your binoculars! Mass of migrating birds to head over Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - (WKBT) Get ready, bird watchers of Wisconsin. A stream of migrating birds are heading over Wisconsin from the southern United States.

According to the Wisconsin Bird Conservation Initiative, there is currently a pipeline of birds migrating up the central United States, triggered by south winds.

In a Facebook post, the group said the south winds are expected to shift eastward Sunday, bringing the migrating birds to Wisconsin Sunday evening through Wednesday.

A radar image taken around midnight Sunday shows the birds making their way north.

WBCI said Wisconsinites can expect to see Baltimore orioles, rose-breasted grosbeaks, ruby-throated hummingbirds and various warblers.
