MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers stopped by Metcalf Park in Milwaukee Saturday afternoon, Sept. 25, to distribute donated diapers to local families as part of the Milwaukee Diaper Mission.
Evers was joined by Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, organizers and other local residents helped out at the event to donate diapers to families in need within the community.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, reports indicate that one in three us families struggled to provide enough clean diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy.
There are currently no federal assistance programs that provide families with diapers, a material basic necessity of every child.
