Good Samaritan helps Waukesha County Sheriff's Department capture fleeing suspect

Earlier this month, A Waukesha County Sheriff's Detective and a good Samaritan were able to capture a suspect that was fleeing from the scene of an injury crash in the city of Milwaukee. Drugs and a handgun were also recovered on the scene.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, a detective witnessed a driver and two passengers fleeing from the scene of an injury accident.

After following one of the suspects a short distance in his car, the detective exited his car and engaged in a short foot pursuit.

During the foot pursuit, an unknown good Samaritan ran out of a nearby restaurant and helped the detective apprehend and handcuff the suspect.

The good Samaritan left shortly after assisting the detective.

The apprehended suspect was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and a moderate amount of crack cocaine was located in the abandoned vehicle.

The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department would like to thank the detective and his unknown helper for going an extra mile to keep citizens safe.

According to the sheriff's department, "their actions resulted in the arrest of an armed suspect fleeing from the scene of an accident and the recovery of a handgun and drugs."
