A holiday trip to Orlando has helped boost the confidence of Marquette's Golden Eagles.
One night after beating Georgia Tech at Disney, Marquette gave 20th ranked Michigan State a tough test Friday night in the second round of the Orlando Classic. The Spartans won 79-68, but Marquette had a late first half lead and were within one point at the half.
Duane Wilson's 15 led MU (3-3), while Matt Carlino followed up his 38 point performance with a 14 point night. Steve Taylor Jr. and Deonte Burton also reached double figures for the Golden Eagles, who finish up their tournament run with a Sunday matchup against Tennessee in Orlando.
