Girl Scouts Move Up Sale Date in California to Sell During Super Bowl

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – You can add Girl Scout cookies to your annual Super Bowl tailgate of guacamole, chips, chili and hot dogs this year.

The  Girl Scouts of Northern California announced Friday that they were moving up the launch of their annual cookie selling campaign by two weeks so they can set up booths in downtown San Francisco near Super Bowl City and also in Santa Clara near Levi’s Stadium –- the site of the big game this year.

The scouts will offer Thin Mints®, Samoas®, Tagalongs®, Trefoils®, Do-si-Dos®, Savannah Smiles®, Rah-Rah Raisins® and gluten-free Toffee-tastic® at the booths.

The prices will be $5 per box with the exception of Toffee-tastic, which sells for $6. Officials said $3.95 of each sale goes to fund Girl Scouts initiatives throughout the year like service projects and STEM programs.

Last year,  the Girl Scouts of Northern California sold 3,747,081 boxes of cookies.

Cookies will go on sale until March 13th.
