MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Girl Scout Troop 1183 just finished installing the first of four first aid boxes that will be located around Fox Point and Bayside. Monday, May 12, the first box was installed at Ellsworth Park in Bayside.
It's part of a project focused on the power of community change, according to Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast.
They say the junior troop spent months workshopping and communicating with aldermen and building managers.
The girls budgeted for, built, and are now installing the boxes, which will function like Little Free Libraries. You can grab first aid supplies like Band-Aids, gauze, tape, and tweezers for free.
The others will be installed at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, Audubon Court, and Doctor's Park.
Community members who would like to donate materials to keep the boxes stocked can contact the troop at [email protected].
The Girl Scouts will be checking and refilling the boxes each month.
