Germantown police say citations possible in 41/45 pile up

GERMANTOWN -- Police in Germantown said on Tuesday that it is very possible some drivers could be cited for their part in the large wreck on Sunday.

The citations would likely be for traveling too fast for the conditions.

Germantown Police admit they are still a long way from that point because of the size of the investigation.

The department, made up of thirty-one total officers, is the main investigating agency taking on the pile up of dozens of vehicles on 41/45 near Lannon Road.

Two officers were pulled off the road today to strictly work on the investigation.

That work includes tracking down drivers, stacks of paper work, and making numerous phone calls.

Ticketing a driver is also difficult because, while there is video, it's hard to identify which vehicles are on the video

Germantown police say they expect to keep working like this at least until the end of the week.
