Germantown house suffers $2.5 million worth of damage after fire

A house in Germantown suffered $2.5 million worth of damage after it caught fire Saturday evening.

Germantown Police discovered the fire while they were responding to a burglar alarm in the 13900 block of Lovers Lane around 7 p.m.

The lower level of the house was fully engulfed in flames.

The Germantown Fire Department responded to put out the fire and they were assisted by a number of area fire departments.  

The home suffered fire, smoke and water damage.

Officials say that one was hurt in the fire.

The cause is still under investigation.
