CBS 58 GERMANTOWN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Mitch Maritato, who invents Halloween animatronics, turns his Germantown home into a display of more than 80 animated props that runs only on Halloween night during trick-or-treating, according to his child, Meagan Gibson.
Gibson emailed CBS 58 about the display, and we visited on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
She wrote to us that her father is an electrical engineer who has worked in the Halloween industry for 20 years and is an inventor on multiple patents for movement modules. Many animatronics sold in stores were invented or co-designed by him, she added.
"He goes all out for Halloween every year," Gibson wrote. Many of the props are ones he invented or made by hand, and he sets everything up in a few days and takes it down after Halloween, according to Gibson.
The display will be ready the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 31.
"It's such a fun family tradition," Gibson wrote.
