Gearing up for Gun Deer Hunting Season Just One Day away

The DNR estimates close to 700,000 hunters are ready to scout out to favorite fields and wooded area across Wisconsin all for the sake of bagging a buck.

The 9-day gun deer hunt season starts early Saturday, so CBS58 decided to spend some time this morning at McMiller Sports Center in Eagle to help get us ready for the big event.

There are a couple of important changes this year.  First, hunters can wear blazing pink in addition to the standard orange color.  Also, you no longer have to wear back tags and carcass tags will be made of paper instead of plastic.

Some other reminders.  Like the CBS58 Ready Weather team is telling you, winter like weather is heading back to the forecast. So dress accordingly and stay dry.   The free CBS58 Ready weather app can help. Also the Wisconsin DNR has a new, thorough app with information on new regulations and gun safety.
