WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) – More than 250 GE employees and retirees enjoyed the warm weather Wednesday by helping out local girl scouts.
May 2 was the GE’s 16th day of service. They went to three Girl Scout camps.
CBS 58 stopped by Camp Silver Brook in West Bend where volunteers were working on a number of projects like staining cabins, landscaping, and building picnic tables.
“Basically in this one day, all these volunteers are able to complete and clean up what would take us months to do on our own, so we’re able to make sure camp is safe, clean, and ready for the girls to come in the summer,” said site manager Bridgette David.
Since 2002, GE volunteers have contributed more than 17,000 hours of service to Girl Scout camps in southeast Wisconsin.
