MILWAUKEE (CBS-58) -- The way Rufus King senior Nate White describes his game makes a lot of sense when you see him play.

"Pretty athletic, smooth, can move, got a lot of wiggle. Speed, acceleration, lowering my shoulder when I need to," says Nate White.

White is following up a junior season where he had 1,541 total yards and 26 total touchdowns playing quarterback and running back, with 683 total yards and 12 touchdowns in just four games.

"He's the kinda kid that when we get things wrong on offense, he makes it right," said Rufus King head coach Tom Wozniak.

So where does he get it from? Well his father Les played at Drake and his brothers Tyler and Coby played in college as well.

"We're all running backs, that's where I learned to play. That's what I was always watching when I was growing up. I was just drawn to it," said White.

Drawn to the game of football and playing his position, he was drawn to the University of Wisconsin.

"It's RBU. And it's home. Close to my family. They can come out to games," said White. "It's Wisconsin."

UW legend and Kenosha native Melvin Gordon or current Badger from Fond Du Lac, Braelon Allen, Nate can be the next Wisconsin born Badger literally carrying the torch.

"Guess I can just try to keep the legacy going, pretty much," said White.

For now, it's about the best senior season possible trying to get the Generals past the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2019. Then, letting the sport take him where it takes him.

"He's got something to prove to himself and I think those are the kind of kids who excel," says coach Wozniak.

Rufus King's season continues with Hamilton on Friday, Sept. 16th, at 4:30pm.
