MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Funeral services were held on Saturday for a Milwaukee firefighter who passed away unexpectedly.
Darrin Jones passed away at his home last weekend.
Jones served nearly three decades with the department.
A procession of fire trucks escorted his casket from the Krause Funeral Home to Wisconsin Memorial Park. Jones was set to retire in May and he was on temporary leave because of an injury.
Although Jones died off-duty, the MFD Honor Guard is treating it as a line of duty death.
