In the span of four days we've gone from temps in the 80s to our first Frost Advisory of the season. A Frost Advisory has been issued for all of southeast Wisconsin from 1am to 9am Monday.
Decreasing clouds overnight and a light northwest wind will allow temperatures to drop into the mid 30s away from the lake. City areas near the lake should stay warm enough (36-39°) to escape the frost, but everyone away from the lake should cover your plants or bring them inside tonight if you want to keep them alive!
It seems abrupt to go from record heat to our first frost, but this is the normal time of year for inland areas to get their first fall frost. Average first frost window lakeside is still a couple weeks away.
More clouds Monday night should prevent frost. Temps will be steady and below normal this week with highs in the mid to upper 50s.
We'll start the week off dry, but the second half of the week is trending soggy and windy. Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather App to see the full 7 day forecast.
